*This parable also is to be understood by way of contrast; thus, our Judge is not unjust, but the Lord our righteousness. Our judge is he who feared God, and regarded man, so as to lay down his life for us, according to the Father's commandment. The church is not a poor widow, but his own chosen bride. Her prayers do not weary him; he is waiting to be gracious at the voice of her cry. This contrast is implied in ver. 7; Rev. 6. 10.
