PRO. x. 11, 13, 20, 21: The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life. In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found. The tongue of the just is as choice silver. The lips of the righteous feed many. do. xv. 7: The lips of the wise disperse knowledge. ECCLUS. xiv. 1: Blessed is the man that hath not slipt with his mouth. do. xix. 16: There is one that slippeth in his speech, but not from his heart; and who is he that hath not offended with his tongue? do. xxv. 8: Well is him that dwelleth with a wife of understanding, and that hath not slipped with his tongue. MAT. xv. 11, 18: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. CHAP. II.

1 It is not agreeable to Christian profession to regard_the_rich, and to despise the poor brethren: 13 rather we are to be loving and merciful: 14 and not to boast of faith where no deeds are, 17 which is but a dead faith, 19 the faith of devils, 21 not of Abraham, 25 and Rahab.

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts ?7
