ON THE FEAR AND SERVICE OF GOD.

REMEMBER now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, "I have "no pleasure in them."

Eccles. xii. 1.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM. A good understanding have all they that do thereafter.

Psal. cxi. 10.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, and call upon Him while He

is near.

Isa. lv. 6.

Set the Lord always before you.

Whether ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of

God.

ON THE LOVE OF THE WORLD.

SET your affection on things above, and not on things on the earth.

Col. iii. 2.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.

Be not conformed to this world.

BEATITUDES.

BLESSED are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peace-makers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

WARNINGS.

BUT woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger.

Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Woe unto you when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
