An Act to amend and consolidate the Acts relating to the [Assented to 7th July, 1883.] WHEREAS it is expedient to-divide the Province of Manitoba Preamble. into Counties (and to form Municipalities therein) and to provide for the government of the same, in order to meet the requirements of the rapid settlement of the country, and for the purpose of making the various divisions of the Province coterminous. Therefore Her Majesty, by and with the advise and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows: PART I. COUNTIES. 1. The Province of Manitoba shall be divided into counties for the purposes hereinafter mentioned as follows: (1.) The County of Lisgar shall comprise townships 13 to Lisgar. 18, both inclusive, ranges 1 to 8 east, both inclusive, whole or fractional, and the parishes of St. Andrew's, St. Clement's, and St. Peter's, together with the Indian Reserve of St. Peter's and the Brokenhead River and townships 19 and 20, ranges 7 and 8 east, fractional, on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, and the towns of Selkirk and East Selkirk. (2.) The County of Gimli shall comprise all the territory on Gimli. the west side of Lake Winnipeg, north of township 18 and east of the first principal meridian. |
