BE merciful, O God, to all that are under any affliction or distress; who labour under poverty or perfecution; under bodily pains and diseases; or under temptations or troubles of mind: mercifully fupport and comfort them; lay no more on them than thou wilt enable them to bear; reconcile them to all thy difpenfations; fanctify their troubles; prepare them for thy whole will concerning them; and in thine own due time give them a happy deliverance out of all their afflictions. Amen.

BLESS,

we beseech thee, our relations and friends, leading them to virtue and happiness here, and rewarding them with eternal life and glory hereafter. Requite the kindness of our benefactors. Pardon the malice of all who have done or wished us evil, guiding them to repentance, and fhewing thy mercy upon them. Amen.

[blocks in formation]

Here a Prayer on any particular Occafion may be introduced.

Concluding Prayer.

FATHER of mercies, God and Father

of our Lord Jefus Chrift, we praise thee for the opportunity we have now enjoyed of uniting together in the folemn and delightful exercises of thy worship. Pardon whatever thy pure eyes have seen amifs in us. Grant that by thus waiting upon thee our spiritual strength may be renewed, and our devotional habits be confirmed. Affift us in the duties which further lie before us. And by the fincere and humble, though imperfect worship of thine earthly courts, may we be trained up for the more perfect and exalted worship of thine heavenly temple. Hear and accept us, O God, according to thine abundant mercies, in Jefus Chrift, in whose words we further call upon thee:

OUR

OUR Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us day by day our daily bread; and forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive them that trespass against us: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

MORNING

MORNING PRAYER.

SEVENTH SERVICE.

This Service to be introduced with the following Sentences by the Minifter; the People rifing up.

WHO is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, and yet humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven and on earth?

Thus faith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whofe name is holy, I dwell in the high and holy place; with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite

ones.
