ALMIGHTY and merciful God, the great Father and Preserver of life, in a faithful dependance on thy goodness, wifdom and power, we now lift up our hearts unto thee, humbly praying, if it feemeth good in thy fight, that thou wilt spare the life of this child, for whom our prayers are defired, and prolong it to years of understanding and usefulness. Under thy direction and bleffing, may all thofe means be pursued, which are most proper to recover bis health, and to restore him to his family

and friends. But if the unerring wisdom of thy providence fhould determine otherwife concerning him, enable all connected with him to fubmit with perfect refignation to thy heavenly will. 0 Lord, who knoweft our frame, incline thy merciful ear unto our prayer, and fulfil these our requests which we present unto thee, in all humility, as the difciples of Jefus Chrift our Lord.
