For the King and Royal Family.

ALMIGHTY God, by whom Kings rule and Princes decree justice, we beseech thee to vifit with thy bleffing thy fervant GEORGE Our King, the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and all the Royal Family; may they diligently cultivate all those virtues which will render them ornaments of their high stations, true disciples of the Prince of Peace, and extenfive bleffings to their country and mankind. Amen.

For the Parliament; to be read during their Seffion.

GOD of infinite wisdom, preside, we intreat thee, in the great council of the nation, at this time in Parliament affembled; direct and profper all their confultations, to the advancement of thy glory, the good of thy church, the fafety, honour, and welfare of our Sovereign and his kingdoms; and may all things be fo ordered by their

endeavours,

endeavours, that peace and liberty, truth and juftice, religion and virtue, may be established amongst us, to all generations. Amen.

For all in Authority.

MAY it please thee to bless our judges

and magiftrates, and all those who are entrufted with the adminiftration of our public affairs. May they employ their authority and power in wisdom and justice, in righteousness and clemency, and hereby promote the virtue, peace, and liberty of our country. Amen.

For the Minifters of Religion.

GOD, the Father of lights, and fountain of all good, endue the Ministers of Religion of every denomination, and in every part of the world, with the fpirit and temper of their Lord and Mafter Jesus Christ. May they diligently purfue the good work

of instructing the ignorant, and reforming the vicious; and in all the duties of their office may they conduct themselves, not as having dominion over the faith of the people, but as examples to their flocks; and, by the excellency of their doctrines, and the holiness of their lives, may they advance thy glory, and the best interest and happiness of mankind. Amen.

For those who are in Affliction.

MOST

gracious God, our heavenly Father, who art the author and giver of all confolation, we humbly recommend to thy providential care all who are in affliction and diftrefs. Be thou, in thy great mercy, a father to the fatherless, and the defender of the widow; provide for the poor; give ease to those who are in pain, deliver those who are oppreffed, and comfort those who mourn; fupport thy faithful fervants who are in bonds, or in any manner perfecuted for the fake of religion; give them fortitude

in

in the day of trial, and in thy due time a happy deliverance out of all their afflictions. Amen.

Concluding Prayer.

LORD, our heavenly Father! mercifully hear the prayers, and accept the praises we have now offered up to thy divine Majefty; increase in us the fpirit of piety and devotion; and grant, that by the integrity of our hearts, and the purity of our lives, we may promote thy honour, extend the influence of thy religion, and advance the glory of thy kingdom; difpofe us to attend, with becoming seriousness, to the inftructions of thy word; may it fink deep into our hearts; like good feed fown in good ground, grant that it may bring forth the fruits of righteousness, and thus prepare us for the exC 3 alted

alted fervices of the heavenly world, all which we most humbly ask in the name of thy fon Jefus Christ, in whose words we further address thee:

OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven: Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive them who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
