CHA P. XXV.
Of the Church.

HE Catholick or Univerfal Church which

is invifible, confists of the whole Number of the Elect, that have been, are, or fhall be gathered into one, under Chrift the Head thereof; and is the Spouse, the Body, the Fulness of him that filleth all in all 2.

might have the preeminence.

is the Kingdom of the Lord Jefus Chrift, the House and Family of God, out of which there is no ordinary Poffibility of Salvation.

III. Unto this Catholick Vifible Church, Chrift hath given the Ministry, Oracles, and Ordinances of God, for the gathering and perfecting of the Saints in this Life to the End of the World: and doth by his own Prefence and Spirit, according to his Promife, make them effectual thereunto 8. IV. This

IV. This Catholick Church hath been sometimes
