28. Queft. What are the Punishments of Sinin this World? Anfw. The Punishments of Sin in this World, are either Inward, as Blindness of Mind, a reprobate Sense f, strong Delufions, Hardness of Heart", Horrour of Conscience i, and vile Affections: Or Outward, as the Curfe of God upon the Creatures for our Sakes'; and all other Evils that befal us in our Bodies, Names,Eftates,Relations,and Employments; together with Death it felf". 29. Quest.

29. Queft. What are the Punishments of Sin in the World to come?

Anfw. The Punishments of Sin in the World to come are, everlafting Separation from the comfortable Prefence of God, and moft grievous Torments in Soul and Body without Intermiffion, in Hell Fire for ever °.

30. Queft. Doth God leave all Mankind to perish in the Eftate of Sin and Mifery?

Anfw. God doth not leave all Men to perish in the Estate of Sin and Misery P, into which they fell by the Breach of the First Covenant, commonly called the Covenant of Works : But of his mere Love and Mercy delivereth his Ele& out of it, and bringeth them into an Eftate of Salvation by the Second Covenant, commonly called the Covenant of Gracer.

then in thofe things, whereof ye are now afhamed for the end of thofe things is death. v. 23. For the wages of fin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Anfw. The Covenant of Grace was made with Chrift as the Second Adam, and in him with all the Elect as his Seed .

32. Queft. How is the Grace of God manifefted in the Second Covenant ?

Anfw. The Grace of God is manifested in the Second Covenant, in that he freely provideth and offereth to Sinners a Mediator', and Life and Salvation by him; and requiring Faith as the Con'dition to intereft them in him ", promifeth and gi

33. Queft. Was the Covenant of Grace always adminiftred after one and the fame Manner?

Anfw. The Covenant of Grace was not always adminiftred after the fame Manner, but the Adminiftrations of it under the Old Teftament were different from those under the New .

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the fons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

The Covenant of Grace was adminiftred under the Old Teftament, by Promises, Prophecies, Sacrifices h, Circumcifion i, the Paflover *, and other Types and Ordinances; which did all forefignify Chrift then to come, and were for that Time fufficient to build up the Elect in Faith in the promised Meffiah ', by whom they then had full Remiffion of Sin and eternal Salvation ".

35. Queft. How is the Covenant of Grace adminiftred under the New Testament ?

Anfw. Under the New Testament, when Christ the Substance was exhibited, the fame Covenant of Grace

Rom. 15. 8. Now I fay, that Jefus Chrift was a minifter of the circumcifion for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.
