not only of the Danger, but also of the Filthinefs and Odioufnefs of his Sins ", and upon the Apprehenfion of God's Mercy in Chrift to fuch as are penitent", he so grieves for and hates his Sins P, as that he turns from them all to God, purpofing 1 Ezek. 18.28. Because he confidereth, and turneth away from all his tranfgreffions that he hath committed, he shall furely live, he fhall not die. v. 30. Therefore I will judge you, O house of Ifrael, every one according to his ways, faith the Lord God: repent, and turn your felves from all your tranfgreffions; fo iniquity fhall not be your ruine, v. 32. Queft. Whence arifeth the Imperfection of SanEtification in Believers? Anfw. The Imperfection of Sanctification in Believers, arifeth from the Remnants of Sin abiding in every Part of them, and the perpetual Luftings of the Flesh against the Spirit; whereby they are often 1 John 2. 12. I write unto you, little children, because your fins are forgiven you for his names fake. v. 13. I write unto you, fathers, becaufe ye have known him that is from the beginning. True Believers by reafon of the unchangeable Love of God f, and his Decree and Covenant to give them Perseverance &; their infeparable Union with c 78. Rom. 7. 18. Queft. Can true Believers be infallibly affured that they are in the Eftate of Grace, and that they fhall perfevere therein unto Salvation? Anfw. Such as truly believe in Chrift, and endeavour to walk in all good Confcience before him ", may without extraordinary Revelation, by Faith grounded upon the Truth of God's Promises; and by the Spirit enabling them to difcern in themselves thofe Graces to which the Promises of Life are made", and fure: for this is all my falvation,and and even as it hath taught you, ye all my defire, although he make it fhall abide in him. not to grow. h1 Cor. 1. 8.
