156. Queft. Is the Word of God to be read by all? Anfw. Although all are not to be permitted to read the Word publickly to the Congregation, yet all Sorts of People are bound to read it apart by

faith; v. 10. Night and day pray-

the Lord, fhall be faved. v. 14.
How then shall they call on him in
whom they have not believed? and
how fhall they believe in him of
whom they have not heard? and
how fhall they hear without a
preacher v. 15. And how fhall
they preach, except they be fent
as it is written, How beautiful are
the feet of them that preach the
gofpel of peace, and bring glad i-
dings of good things! v. 16. But
they have not all obeyed the gofpel.
For Efaias faith, Lord, who hath
believed our report? v. 17. So then,
faith cometh by hearing, and hear-
ing by the word of God. Rom. 1. 16.
For I am not afhamed of the gospel
of Chrift for it is the power of
God unto falvation, to every one
that believeth, to the Jew firft, and
alfo to the Greek.
