Of the Law of God.

NOD gave to Adam a Law as a Covenant of Works, by which he bound him and all his Pofterity to perfonal, entire, exact and perpetual Obedience; promifed Life upon the fulfilling, and

heardeft the voice of my fupplications, when I cried unto thee. [ Pfal. 88. throughout] Ifai. so. 10. Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his fervant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him truft in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

91 John 3.9. Whofoever is born of God, doth not commit fin: for his feed remaineth in him, and he cannot fin, because he is born of God. Luke 22 32. Thou shalt not fteal, Thou shalt not bear falfe witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this faying, namely, Thou fhalt love thy neighbour as thy felf. Deut. 5. 32. Ye fhall obferve to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: you fhall not turn afide to the right hand or to the left. Deut. 10. 4. And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord fpake unto you in the mount, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the affembly: and the Lord gave them unto me. Exod. 34. 1. And the Lord faid unto Mofes, Hew thee two tables of ftone like unto the firft; and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first table which thou brakeft.
