all dangerous errors; this people from forgeting Thee, their Lord and benefactor. Be gracious to those countries, that are made defolate by fword, famine, peftilence or perfecution. Blefs all perfons and places, to which thy providence has made me a debtor; all, who have been inftrumental to my good by their affistance, advice, or example; and make me in my turn ufeful to others. Let none of those, that defire my prayers, want thy mercy; but defend, and comfort, and conduct them through to their lives end.

"In every thing give thanks; for this is the "will of God in Chrift Jefus concerning you." Caufe us, O God, to profit by all the vifitations of thy grace and mercy.

"It becometh well the juft to be thankful." O Lord and Father, I am not worthy of the leaft of all thy mercies, which Thou haft showed thy fervant, nor can I render due thanks and praise for them; but, O Lord, accept this facrifice of praife and thanksgiving.

For all the known, and for all the unobserved favors, deliverances, vifitations, opportunities of doing good, chastisements, and graces of thy Holy Spirit, vouchfafed to me, I bless thy good providence; befeeching Thee to pardon my ingratitude, that I have paffed fo many days and years without obferving, and acknowledging thy great goodness to thy unworthy fervant. For, when I foberly confider my depen dence upon Thee for life, welfare, health of bo

Let us never afcribe any thing to ourselves, but all to the grace of God; and render to Him all the glory of his works. Preserve me, O God, from the infenfibility of those, who receive thy favors without being affected by them, and from the ingratitude of those, who look upon them, as a debt.

Pfa. xc. 1, 2. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to fing praifes unto thy name, O Moft High; to fhew forth thy loving kindness in the morning and thy faithfulness every night.

Many and great have been the favors and bleffings, which Thou haft bestowed on this nation; for which, O Lord, in conjunction with thofe, who praise Thee for them, and in the stead of thofe, who forget to praise Thee, I blefs and

praise thy holy name. Blefs the Lord, O my

foul, and forget not all his benefits.

OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN.

Acts. xvii. 28. In Thee we live, and move, and have our being.

Grant that we may love Thee with all our heart, and mind, and foul, and strength.

Bleffed be God, who dealeth with us with the tenderness of a Father. O that we may re

member that our Father and our inheritance are in heaven.

I commit myself, and all that belongs to me, to thy fatherly care and love.

Verily, whatever ye ask the Father in my name, he will give it you! This is the great support and comfort of finners. Hear us for thy Son's fake; for as finners, we have no right to ask any favor.

What manner of love is it, that we fhould be called the fons of God.

or,

HALLOWED BE THY NAME.

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive honand power, and glory, for Thou haft created all things."

"In this is my Father glorified, that ye bring forth much fruit."

May thy children have a great regard for every thing, that belongs to Thee.

May I never difhonor Thee, O Heavenly Father, by word or deed.

May I glorify Thee daily by a good life. Fill my heart with great concern and zeal for thy glory.

"Let every thing, that hath breath, praise the Lord."

"They that honor me, I will also honor." How little have I done to promote thy glory! God be merciful unto me.

THY KINGDOM COME.

May all the kingdoms of the world obey thy laws, and fubmit to thy providence, and become

the kingdoms of the Lord, and of his Chrift! Bless the pious endeavors of all thofe, who ftrive to propagate the gospel of thy kingdom. Vouchfafe to reign in my heart; and let not Satan ever have dominion over me.

Fit us, O God, for the coming of thy kingdom. May I fubmit, and rejoice to be governed by Thee!

O that thy Holy Spirit may direct and rule my heart; fubdue in me all pride, covetousness, hatred, malice, envy, luft, uncleanness, and whatever shall offend Thee.

THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

1 Theff. iv. 3. This is the will of God, even our fanctification.

Thou haft fent us into the world, not to do our own will, but thine. O subject my will to thine.

May thy name be honored by the good lives of Chriftians.

O that I may have refpect unto all thy commands. May thy will, revealed to us in thy holy word, be the rule of my will, of my defires, of my words, life, and actions.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD.

John vi. 27. Labour not for the meat, which perifbeth; but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life.

Lord, give us evermore this bread. Give us the neceffaries of life; but above all the bread, that nourisheth to eternal life.

AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THEM, WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US.

AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION.

1 Cor. x. 13. Let him, that thinketh be ftandeth, take heed, left he fall.

Let not any confidence in ourselves provoke Thee, O God, to leave us to ourselves.

2 Pet. ii. 9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation.

Thou, O Father, knoweft my infirmities, and the power of my enimies; be not wanting to me in the hour of temptation.

BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

1 Pet. v. 8. Be fober, be vigilant, because your adverfary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, Jeeking whom he may devour.

Grant O Heavenly Father, that this adverfary may never find me off my guard, nor from
