Joseph's Dreams.

1. In what land did Jacob dwell?

Why was Jacob's father called a stranger in the land of Canaan?

Why was the land of Canaan called the promised land, or the land of promise?

2. With what words does this verse begin? What is meant here by the "generations of Jacob ?” Which of Jacob's sons is mentioned?

How many sons had Jacob?

What were their names?

What are they called in Acts vii. 8?
What are patriarchs?

How old was Joseph at the time mentioned?
What was he doing with his brethren?
Which of his brethren are especially named?
What did Joseph bring to his father?
What is the meaning of those words?

By what motives should we be actuated when we make known the wicked actions of others?

To what persons should we make them known? What is too commonly the reason why we tell of each other's bad conduct?

Is it tale-bearing to make known the wicked actions of others to teachers and friends who can prevent them in future?

Should it be done secretly or openly?

3. Whom did Israel love more than all his

children?

Why did he so?

Hal not Jacob a son still younger?

Had he a special regard for Joseph's mother? How did Israel show his love for Joseph? 4. What did Joseph's brethren see? How did they feel and behave towards him? Was it right for Israel to show his partiality to Joseph in this way?

If others are preferred to you, how should you act that you may also gain the approbation of your friends?
