THE ETERNAL YEARS. BY THE HON. MRS. A. MONTGOMERY, 39.66 ALSO THE BUCKLYN SHAIG,' MINE OWN FAMILIAR FRIEND," WITH AN INTRODUCTION BY THE REV. G. PORTER, S.J. PREFACE. The form of the work IN OFFERING these pages to the public as the natural outgrowth of our previous work "The Divine Sequence," we repudiate all intention of writing novelties. The thoughts therein expressed are only valuable to ourselves in so far as they are in harmony with the definitions of the Church, or, when treating of less defined matters, are in harmony with her spirit. and the mode of treatment may possibly be a little different from that generally adopted in dealing with sacred subjects. It appeared to us to be a form adapted to the wants of the present time. But whether as regards the subject or the form, we submit all entirely and unreservedly to our Holy Mother the Church, and to ecclesiastical authority.
