For the right Understanding the holy Scriptures. BLESSED Lord God, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our inftruction, grant that we may in fuch wife hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digeft them; that by patience and comfort of thy holy word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the joyful hope of everlasting life, which thou haft given us in our Saviour Jefus Christ. Amen.

For the Divine Direction and Blessing.

ALMIGHTY God, the fountain of all wisdom, grant, we beseech thee, unto us thy fervants a right judgment in all things;

give us a filial fear and love of thy name; increase in us true religion, and establish our hearts in all goodness. Direct and preserve us in the way of thy truth, and in obedience to thy commandments, that thou being our ruler and guide, we may fo pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things that are eternal. Amen.

For Chriftian Fellowship.

GOD of all grace, who hast built thy church upon the foundation of the prophets and apoftles, Jefus Chrift himself being the chief corner ftone, grant that we and all Chriftians may be fo joined together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, and fo follow them in all godly living, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable in thy fight, and may come at last to those unspeakable joys which thou haft prepared for those who unfeignedly love thee, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

O LORD, the preserver of all that trust

in thee, who knoweft our neceffities before we ask, and our ignorance in asking, we humbly beseech thee mercifully to look upon our frailties and infirmities, and for the glory of thy holy name, turn from us all thofe evils which we have most justly deserved, and give us those things which may be profitable to us. Keep us under the protection of thy good providence. Grant, that in all our troubles we may put our whole truft in thy mercy, enjoy that peace which the world cannot give, and evermore ferve thee in holiness of life, as true difciples of Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O LORD, our heavenly Father, high and mighty, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, the fupreme ruler of Princes, we beseech thee with thy favour to behold thy servant George our King, and fo replenish him with the grace of thy holy spirit, that he may always incline to thy will, and walk in thy way: grant him in health and happinefs long to live: profper all his righteous undertakings, and after this life may he attain everlasting joy and felicity, through thy mercy and goodness in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
