GOD, the Father of lights, and the author of all good, by thy gracious providence we have been called to the knowledge and profeffion of the Chriftian Faith. We render unto thee our humble and

enjoy by thy great mercy. feech thee, the fervices we have now performed, in obedience to the authority of thy beloved Son, and in remembrance of him; may his memory be ever bleffed among us, and the fame mind be in us, which was also in him; that being now heirs, through hope, of the everlasting kingdom, we may at length be made partakers with him of a bleffed immortality. Amen.

ALMIGHTY

ALMIGHTY and most merciful God,

who wouldeft have all men to be faved, and come to the knowledge of thy truth, regard in mercy, we befeech thee, thofe parts of the earth where the gofpel is not known, and by bringing them to the knowledge of true religion, make them capable of higher degrees of virtue and happiness. More efpecially as members of the Church of Chrift, founded in charity and love, we pray for the whole chriftian world, that all who profefs the faith of the gofpel, may hold it in unity of fpirit, in the bond of peace, and holinefs of life. Grant that the fpirit and temper of Chrift and his religion may overcome all difcord, ftrife, and perfecution; that there may be no longer any fchifm in his Church, and that all his difcifples and followers, however divided in opinion, may be united in love. We entreat thee, more particularly, to affift us to govern our hearts agreeably to the fentiments of benevolence we now express be

fore thee, that, together with all our fellow Christians, we may continually become here on earth more worthy of the glorious fociety in heaven, where charity never faileth.

Accept us, O Father of all mercies, in these our fupplications, which we present unto thee in the name of Jefus Christ, in whom we rejoice, as the head of all things to the Church, and in whofe words we conclude our devotions to thee.

OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us day by day our daily bread; and forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever. Amen.

THE God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jefus, that great fhepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make us perfect in every good work to do his will, working in us that which is well pleasing in his fight, through Jefus Chrift: to him be glory for ever. The Minifter may begin the Service with the following Obfervations, relating to the appointment, nature, and ufe of Baptifm.

OUR bleffed Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, having himself published his religion, for the falvation of the world, to the Jewish nation, commiffioned his apoftles to complete the work he had begun, by preaching his gofpel to all nations, commanding them to make difciples, by baptifing and inftructing them in his doctrines and laws.

All power, faith he, is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore, and teach or disciple all nations, baptifing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obferve
