OUR Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread; and forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive those who trespass against us: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Heb. xiii. 20, 21.

NOW may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jefus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make us perfect in every good work to do his will, working in us that which is well pleafing in his fight, through Jefus Chrift: to him be glory for ever. Amen.

BURIAL OF THE DEAD.

The Minifter, meeting the Corpfe at the entrance of the Burial Ground, shall say,

I AM the refurrection and the life, faith the Lord; he that believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall not die eternally. John xi. 25, 26.

All flesh is as grafs, and the glory of man as the flower of the grass; the grass withereth, and the flower thereof fadeth away, but the word of the Lord endureth for ever. I Pet. i. 24, 25.

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; bleffed be the name of the Lord. Job i. 21.

When they come to the Grave, the Minister fhall
Jay,

MAN that is born of a woman, hath but

a short time to live: He cometh up, and is cut down like a flower; he fleeth as it were a fhadow, and never continueth in one stay.

In the midst of life we are in death; of whom may we seek for fuccour, but of thee, O Lord, who for our fins art juftly difpleafed?

Yet, O Lord God most holy, O Lord moft mighty, O holy and most merciful Father, deliver us not into the bitter pains of the second death..

Thou knoweft, Lord, the fecrets of our hearts; fhut not thy merciful ears to our prayers; but fpare us, Lord most holy, O God moft mighty, O holy and most merciful Father, thou fupreme Judge of all, fuffer us not at our laft hour to fall from our faith and hope in thee.

¶ Then,

Then, while the earth fhall be cast upon the body, the Minifter fhall fay,

FORASMUCH as it hath pleased Almighty God to take from this world our brother here departed, we therefore commit his body to the ground; earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, in sure and certain hope that there shall be a resurrection to eternal life of all those who die in the fear and love of God, through our Lord Jefus Chrift, who fhall change their corruptible body, that it may be like unto his glorious body, according to the mighty working of that power, whereby he is enabled to fubdue all things unto himself, that all may confefs that Chrift Jefus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

BLESSED

are the dead who die in the Lord; even fo faith the Spirit; for they reft from their labours, and their works

follow them.
