O GOD, the preferver of all who fear,

love, and trust in thee, we recommend ourfelves and all our concerns to the disposal of thy gracious providence. Thou knoweft what is truly good for us, and it is the fource of our confidence and joy that we are under thy fatherly care. In humble fubmiffion to thy will, we beseech thee to continue to us the use of our reafon and understanding, and to bless us with health of body, and peace of mind. Bestow upon us fuch a fhare of the good things of life, as thou knoweft to be beft for us. Conduct us by thy gracious hand through all the changes of this world, and may we at last

Look with an eye of mercy, we beseech thee, on all those who fit in darkness; cause thy light to shine upon their minds. May the gospel of Jefus Chrift univerfally prevail, and prove the power and wifdom of God to the falvation of all men. Teach them to adorn their high ftations here, by genuine piety and virtue, that hereafter they may exchange their earthly honours, for crowns of glory which fhall never fade away. Amen.

GOD, the fountain of all wisdom, we befeech thee to counfel the King's counfellors. (Prefide in the high court of Parliament at this time affembled, and over-rule all their confultations for the public good.) Blefs all the magistrates of this land; may they difcharge the duties of their stations and offices with fidelity and a good confcience; and under them may we lead peaceable and quiet lives, in all godliness and honefty. THOU fupreme head of the church, we humbly befeech the to fend down thy bleffing on all Chriftian minifters. May they take heed to themfelves and to their doctrines, and thus do honour to their Chriftian profeffion, and promote the falvation of men, that when Chrift the chief fhepherd fhall appear, they may receive a crown of everlasting life and glory. ALMIGHTY God, by whose gracious providence the fucceffive generations of men are called into being, we commend to thy paternal goodness the young and rifing generation. Lead them by thy fatherly hand in the path of duty, and preserve them amidst the temptations of the world. As they grow in years, may they grow in grace, and by a careful improvement of the talents committed to their trust, may they lay a foundation for their present and future happiness. Amen.

MOST gracious God, we beseech thee to

look with compaffion on all who are in affliction. Be unto them a prefent help in time of trouble. We intreat thee, O God of mercy, to hear the cries of the oppreffed. May it please thee to comfort those who mourn; to provide for the poor;
