Thou compaffeft our path and our lying down; and art acquainted with all our

For there is not a word in our tongue, but lo, O Lord, thou knoweft it altogether. People.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for us; it is high, we cannot attain unto it.

Whither fhall we go from thy Spirit? or whither fhall we flee from thy presence?

If we afcend up into heaven, thou art there if we make our bed in the grave, behold thou art there.

If we take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermoft parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead us, and thy right hand fhall hold us.

If we fay, furely the darkness. fhall cover us, even the night shall be light about us;

If

yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day.

The darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

How precious are thy thoughts unto us, O God! How great is the fum of them.

If we should count them, they are more in number than the fand; when we awake, we are ftill with thee.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts; try us and know our thoughts. And fee if there

The General Thanksgiving; the People standing.

O MOST bounteous God, Father of all mercies, we thine unworthy fervants render thee our humble and hearty thanks, for all thy goodness and loving kindness to us and to all men. We praise thy glorious name for calling us into being, and forming us for future happiness. We thank thee for the watchful providence which hath attended us all our days. For all our temporal mercies accept, O God, our grateful praises.

all his benefits.

Above all, we thank thee for fpiritual and divine mercies in Jefus Christ, our Lord. Adored be thy name, O Lord, that the Sun of righteousness hath arifen upon us, to give light to them that fit in darkness and in the fhadow of death, and to guide our feet in the way of peace. We praise thee for the valuable and important truths which Jefus Chrift taught; for the pious example which he hath fet before us; and for the gracious promises of pardon and divine acceptance which he has made us, on our fincere faith, repentance, and new obedience. Glory be to thee, O Father, that our profpects are extended beyond the grave; that Jefus Chrift hath brought life and immortality to light; that he died for our fins, and rofe again for our juftification; and that by his refurrection from the dead, we are begotten unto a lively hope of an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away. F we fay we have no fin, we deceive ourfelves, and the truth is not in us; but if we confefs our fins, God is faithful and kind to forgive us our fins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousnesfs; let us therefore confefs our fins at the throne of the heavenly grace.
