GIVE

unto the Lord the glory due unto his name, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

O give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds amongst the people. Glory ye in his holy name, let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. Seek the Lord and his ftrength; feek his face for evermore.

Truft in him at all times, O ye people, pour out your hearts before him, for God is our refuge.

[blocks in formation]

The Introductory Prayer; the People kneeling. ALMIGHTY and ever blessed Lord our God! thou art greatly to be feared, and worthy to be had in the highest reverence in the affemblies of thy people. Thou art the high and lofty One who inhabitest eternity, and art of purer eyes than to behold iniquity: but though thou art high, thou haft refpect unto the lowly: thou dwelleft with him who is of a humble and contrite fpirit; and haft declared thou wilt draw nigh unto all them that draw nigh unto thee. Under an awful sense of the glories of thy nature, and the majesty of thy kingdom, we, thine unworthy fervants, defire now, with the deepest humility, to bow down and worfhip at thy footstool. Look mercifully upon us from heaven, the habitation of thy holinefs; and enable us to pour out our hearts before thee in prayer and praife, with that fincerity and truth which thou requireft in all those who approach thee. Amen.
