20. And the sticks whereon thou writeft, fhall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21. And fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord God, Behold, I will take the children of Ifrael from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every fide, and bring them

into their own land.

22. And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Ifrael, and one king shall be king to them all: and they fhall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

23. Neither ball they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their deteftable things, nor with any of their tranfgreffions: but I will fave them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have finned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

CHAP. XXXIX. 25.

25. Therefore thus faith the Lord God, Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Ifrael, and will be jealous for my holy name :

26. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be farisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wonderously with you: and my people fhall never be ashamed.

ZECH. viij. 7.-15.

7. Thus faith the Lord of hofts, Behold, I will fave my people from the east-country and from the west-country.

8. And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerufalem, and they shall be my people, and I will be their God in truth and in righteousness.

9. Thus faith the Lord of hofts, Ler your hands beftrong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the houfe of the Lord of hofts was laid, that the temple might be built.

14. For thus faith the Lord of hosts, As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, faith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not;

15. So again have I thought in thefe days to do well unto Jerufalem, and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

CHAP. X. 5,-12.

5. And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their -enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle, and they fall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horfes fhall be confounded.

6. And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and Twill fave the house of Jofeph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I shave mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not caft them off: for I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.

7. And they of Ephraim fhall be like a mighty man, and their heart hallrejoice as through wine: yea, their children fhall fee it, and be glad, their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.

8. I will hifs for them, and gather them, for I have redeemed them: and they fall increase as they have increased.

9 And I will fow them among the people: and they fhall re2member me in far countreys, and they hall live with their children, and turn again.

10. I will bring them again alfo out of the land of Egypt, and

11. And he shall pass through the fea with affliction, and shall fmite the waves in the fea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Affyria fhall be brought down, and the Scepter of Egypt fall depart away.

12. And I will ftrengthen them in the Lord, and they shall walk up and down in his name, faith the Lord.

III.

Prophecies Relating to the Rebuilding of Jerufalem and the Temple, to the re-establishment of the Jewish worship there, and to the settling the several Tribes in their order.

A

GEN. XLIX. I,—27.

ND Jacob called unto his fons, and faid, Gather your felves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the laft days.

2. Gather your felves together, and hear, ye fons of Jacob; and hearken unto Ifrael your father.

3. Reuben, thou art my firft-born, my might, and the begin ning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power.

4. Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel, because thou wenteft up to thy fathers bed: then defiledft thou it; he went up to my couch. 5. Simeon and Levi are brethren: inftruments of cruelty are in

their habitations.

6. O my foul, come not thou into their fecret: unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united for in their anger they flew a man, and in their felf-will they digged down a wall.

17. Curfed be their anger. for it was fierce ; and their wrath, for it was cruel: Iwill divide them in Jacob, and fcatter them in Ifrael.

8. Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise; thy hand fball

fhall be in the neck of thine enemies: thy fathers children fhall bow down before thee.

9. Judah is a lions whelp; from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he frooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who fall roufe him up?

10. The Scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a law-giver from between his feet, until Shiloh come, and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

12. His eyes fhall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. 13. Zebulon fhall dwell at the haven of the fea: and he shall be for an haven of fhips, and his border shall be unto Zidon.

14. Ifachar is a strong afs couching down between two burdens. 15. And he faw that reft was good, and the land, that it was pleafant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a fervant

unto tribute.

16. Danfball judge his people, as one of the tribes of Ifrael. 17. Dan fhall be a ferpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse-heels, fo that his rider shall fall backward. 18. I have waited for thy falvation, O Lord.

19. Gad, a troopfhall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the laft.

20. Out of Afher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal

dainties.

21. Naphthali is a hind let loofe: he giveth goodly words. 22. Jofeph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall.

23. The archers have forely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him.

24. But his bow abode in ftrength, and the arms of his hands were made ftrong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob: from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Ifrael.

25. Even by the God of thy father who shall help thee, and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with bleffings of heaven above, bleffings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breafts, and of

the womb.
