This Power is claim'd by this Word, Ezr. ix. 9, And to give us an Hedge in Judah and in Jerufalem. The Meaning of y feems to be being, putting or keeping, under; and the Idea runs thro' all the Senfes they put on the Word. Here, to answer, is to fubjoin; a Cloud, which oppreffes; a Fountain . e. Water preffed out of the Earth, &c. And hence y a Participle, Compreffion; Sin, as it is Servitude or Slavery.
