And they cast him out.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him; “ Dost thou believe on the Son of God ?"
He answered and said ; “Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him ?”
And Jesus said unto him; “ Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee."
And he said ; “Lord, I believe ;' and he worshipped him.
And Jesus said ; "For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see, and that they which see might be made blind."
And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto
" Are we blind also ?” Jesus said unto them ; “If ye were blind,
should have no sin ; but now ye say ; see ;' therefore your sin remaineth. Verily,"21 verily, I say uuto you, he that entereth not by
I the door into the sheep-fold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber ; but he that entereth in by the door, is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice ; and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them ; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers."
This parable spake Jesus unto them ; but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
Then said Jesus unto them again ; “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the
I sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers ; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door ; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep and fleeth ; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd ; and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring; and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore
Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again ; no man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself; I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this commandment have I received of my Father."
There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. And many of them said ; "He hath a devil, and is mad;
“ why hear ye him?"
Others said; “ These are not the words of him that hath a devil ; can a devil open the eyes of the blind ?''
Jesus departs into Galilee - Call of Peter and Andrew
and James and John. - Cure of Simon's wife's moth-
Now when Jesus had heard that John was me. to cast into prison, he departed into Galilee.
(For Herod himself had sent forth and laid Mk. hold upon John, and bound him in prison, for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her. For John had said unto Herod; “It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.")
And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt Mt. iy. in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim; that
1 it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying; “ The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people which sat in darkness,
saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up."
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say ; “Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
And Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers. And he saith unto them; “Follow me, and I will make you
fishers of men.” And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine ; for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, saying; “Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth ? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the holy one of God.”
And Jesus rebuked him, saying; “ Hold thy peace, and come out of him.”
Mk. 1 21-38
And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying; “What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him."
And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and anon they tell him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her
up; and immediately the fever left her; and she ministered unto them.
And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils ; and all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed inany that were sick with divers diseases; and cast out many devils, and suffered not the devils to speak because they knew him.
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. “And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him; “ All men seek for thee.” And he said unto them; “Let us go into
