our selves, nor suffer our selves to be deceived by others in this Matter. If we repent of, and turn from our Sins; if by the Spirit and Power of Jesus Christ, we are raised from the Death of Sin to the Life of Righteousness"; if we endeavour to serve and please God, by living a new and a boly Life, we cannot think too highly of, nor ascribe too much to the Grace and Mercy of God in Christ Jesus. But if we are impenitent and obftinate ; if we live and continue to live in known and wilful Sin, we do but deceive our felves, by thinking that our Condition will be at ill bertered by the Coming of Jesus Christ into the World. For such a Behaviour is a full Proof that we are Workers of Iniquity, whom our Saç viour and Judge will hereafter bid to depart from him.

.(2) We are much mistaken if we imagine that the Apostle here, styles himself the greatest of Sinners. Nor does what he says in the 13th Verle amount to such an acknowledgment: The Crime he accuses himself of was, that he persecuted the Church of Christ. And this he did not do against his knowledge, but as he tells us, Acts 26. 9. he verily thought he ought to do many things contrary to the Name of Jesus Christ.

The Promise notwithstanding is made good, if he shall fometimes give a safeDeliverance to Women on account of their Trust in him, their Charity, Holiness, and Sobriety.
