Difobedient to the Gofpel of the Truth, of which they had received fo many and fuch clear Proofs, they were appointed to that Punishment which was fo juftly threatned to the Difobedient. So that what was defigned by God for their Salvation, by their Sin and Obstinacy became the Occafion of their falling into a Worfe Condition, and of their being more feverely punifl.ed.
